OneDrive integration

Use OneDrive files, folders and metadata in Fortiana. Supported file content can help answer questions about the documents your team works with.

What is OneDrive?

OneDrive is Microsoft’s cloud storage service for backing up, accessing, editing, sharing, and syncing files across devices. It also supports real-time collaboration on Microsoft 365 documents and shared material.

How it works with Fortiana

A final customer file may sit beside an internal working copy or an earlier proposal. OneDrive contributes files, folders and metadata that help distinguish these materials. Supported file content, when available, adds the wording needed to answer a question about the document itself.

What Fortiana can use

  • Files
  • Folders
  • File metadata

Optional: Supported file content.

Not included: Mail and calendar data.

How you can use it

For example, you can ask questions such as:

  • Which version of the document is current?
Use file and folder context to compare likely working copies without assuming that the newest name is the approved version.
  • What does the approved proposal say?
Rely on supported file content when available, while keeping the document’s approval status distinct from its wording.
  • Where is the final customer file?
Trace folders and metadata to locate the material the team treats as final for that customer.

Before you connect

  • Identify the file locations. List the OneDrive accounts, folders and documents needed for the initial use case.
  • Review access requirements. Involve the owner who can confirm the connection requirements for the relevant files.
  • Check content support. Identify the file types whose contents matter and confirm that coverage before relying on document-level answers.
