What is Outlook?
Microsoft Outlook is an email and calendar application for personal, work, school, and third-party accounts. It combines mail, calendars, contacts, and related work views in one client, with features varying by account type and Outlook edition.
How it works with Fortiana
A renewal, delivery change or customer escalation often spans several emails. The first request may differ from the terms accepted later. Outlook correspondence gives Fortiana the exchange around those changes: what was proposed, how people replied and which next step they committed to.
What Fortiana can use
- Messages
- Message metadata
- Conversation threads
Optional: Files attached to messages.
Not included: Calendar data unless separately supported.
How you can use it
For example, you can ask questions such as:
- What changed in the renewal terms?
Compare the original proposal with later replies to identify which terms were revised and which remained unchanged. - Did the customer accept the new delivery date?
Use the reply that confirms or challenges the date, rather than treating the proposal itself as approval. - What response do we still owe?
Follow the email exchange to find the unanswered request or promised clarification.
Before you connect
- Identify the mailboxes. List the Outlook accounts and correspondence needed for the first use case, including any shared-mailbox requirements.
- Confirm who can authorize access. Identify the account owner or administrator who can review the connection requirements and the intended data scope.
- Check the role of attachments. Note which questions depend on attached documents so their availability can be confirmed alongside the email scope.
