What is Zoom Team Chat?
Zoom Chat is Zoom’s instant-messaging workspace for contacts, groups, and channels. It connects written conversations with files and other Zoom Workplace tools, including meetings, documents, and whiteboards for collaboration.
How it works with Fortiana
A launch discussion may continue in chat long after a meeting ends. Zoom Team Chat contributes those written updates and commitments through messages and metadata, with optional attached files. This helps a question return to the words recorded in chat without assuming access to the meeting itself.

How you can use it
For example, you can ask questions such as:
- What changed after the launch discussion?
Read the relevant chat sequence to distinguish a decided change from ideas that were raised but never adopted. - Which follow-up did the team agree to?
Use the message context to identify the commitment and its wording, without turning participation alone into ownership. - Is the blocker still open?
Compare the latest relevant messages with the earlier discussion so a repeated status is not mistaken for resolution.
Before you connect
- Identify the chat conversations. List the Team Chat conversations needed and confirm which can be made available through the connection.
- Review access and history needs. Involve the account owner to confirm authorization requirements and the period of chat history needed.
- Separate chat from meeting material. Note any questions that require recordings or transcripts; those need a separate source.
