What is Claude?
Claude is Anthropic’s AI assistant for conversations about writing, analysis, coding and other work. A data export lets users keep a copy of their conversation history.
How it works with Fortiana
When work spans several sessions, the final answer may hide how the brief evolved. An exported Claude thread preserves the exchanges around it: alternatives, objections and user feedback. Fortiana can use the conversation and its available metadata to help you return to the point where that discussion left off.

Not included: Live API access; Automatic ongoing updates.
How you can use it
For example, you can ask questions such as:
- Which approaches did we compare?
Use the earlier turns to recover the options discussed before a direction was chosen. - Why did I reject the first proposal?
Return to the user feedback that changed the brief rather than inferring the reason from the final answer. - Where did we leave the next iteration?
Find the unfinished request or next step described near the end of the conversation.
Prepare your export
- Obtain the conversation export. Prepare the Claude export containing the discussions you want to retain as context.
- Review the included threads. Check that the relevant conversations are present and note the export date.
- Account for later work. If the conversation continued after the export, prepare a newer one before relying on that later context.
An import captures the history present in the export. Later changes require a newer export; they are not added automatically.
Does the export confirm that a proposed action happened?
No. A thread may contain a proposal or generated description. Confirm an action through the appropriate source record rather than treating the proposal as evidence of completion.
